First time at the pool

After a few hot days we thought Mia might enjoy a little trip to the rooftop of our building where she tried out the pool for the first time

It has just the right size for a baby and after a busy day if rolling over a little refreshment is always welcome:

With the pool just up the stairs Mia might become a regular there soon

Father's Day

On Father's day in the US Mia decided she would surprise us by changing her stroller routine: Instead of just leaning back and enjoying the ride she now wants to make sure she doesn't miss anything and was sitting up and looking around during our croisant run to the bakery in the morning.
When she did the same in the evening she was a little tired and leaning over a bit - as can be seen on this picture:

She also missed out on the steak Ji grilled on our balcony. For now we are trying to intoduce here to solid food with bananas and rice cereal - but not a big fan yet.

Rolling over

After practicing for about a week Mia finally managed to roll over from her back all by herself on Monday. Very nice to be able to change position and see things from a different perspective now.

Another highlight of the week was Mia's first trip to West Virgina: This year the company team outing went to Harpers Ferry for a BBQ with family on a campground. Next year she could join the fun in the pool and maybe stay overnight

Six months old

Mia's six month birthday had a schedule just like the one two months earlier: An afternoon trip to the pediatrician with some measuring and weighting (25.5 inches and 20.6 lb or 65 cm and 9,3 kg ) and four more shots which of course made her cry.
There were also some questions to answer, like "Does she pass things from one hand to the other?" We could not answer this one but Mia was happy to demonstrate that she can pass her pacifier from the right hand to the left one.
We were also not sure if she can roll over yet; When hanging out with us in our bed on Sunday morning she suddenly was on her tummy but somehow we didn't see how it happenend.
When she is not playing she is using our bed for her naps - and does't mind sharing it with Mr Mimi:

The pile of books in the background is there because we moved two day earlier: Six months seemed to be a good age for Mia to move to a bigger apartment where she has more space once she is crawling and walking. Of coutse we don't mind the extra space and the litle balcony either.
There is also more closet space - which is Mia could use for her outfit - like the one she got from Claudia:
