So far Mia's favorite vegetable has been softly cooked carrots - and they are not too many other vegetables an her personal top 10 list. The other days she discovered that she also likes broccoli - at least the tender ends.

Jamestown
After our stay in the Great Wolf lodge we headed to the Jamestown settlement just a 10 minute drive away. The weather was beautiful with sunshine and summer like temperatures. Also there was a lot to see.
First one could explore an Indian village
Then there were replicas of the the ships on which the settlers had arrived in the April of 1607. Thy wee surprisingly small. One could walk around on two of them and explore above and below deck.
Guides explained how live was on those ships or how they were made waterproof
Then there was also a rebuild version of the first settlement - including some free range chicken
Ha showed how to carry water buckets with a special carrier
Of course the children wanted to try as well

Oktoberfest
This year Mia's school had another Oktoberfest. Of course there was no beer but moon bouncing, cupcakes and other highlights for kids. Mia met a friend from her class at the playground and she showed her how to slide down from a really high pole
Mia also enjoyed the clown who made a purple bunny out of a ballon for her

Jacob's Birthday Party
Mia got a really nice surprise on Saturday evening when Jacob's mother knocked at our door to invite her to a little birthday party for Jacob. He had picked a very nice chocolate cake a Whole Foods and wanted Mia to come over to have a piece. The only other person that got invited was Luca but at least we got to see a picture.
It was also a good weekend to spend outside: Saturday evening we stayed at a park until it was almost dark and Sunday we saw the beaver, an eagle and other animals at the zoo.

Larriland Farm
First we checked out a maze made of haystacks. Fortunately we found the way out
After Mia posed as a monster we had some lunch and tried the hayride.
There were also some goats Mia could feed
After that we headed to the fields for some spinach and apple picking
Of course we tried an apple fresh from the tree and it tasted really good. The spinach we had in the evening and one could tell it was really fresh. We might go there again later this month
