Weststadtfest

On a sunny summer weekend we checked out the neighborhood  festival in the Weststadt - a trendy part of the city with nice old buildings  from the later 1800 hundrets.


There was a program with shows for children, playoptions, a big flee market for and from children and food a drinks





The next morning we came back for breakfast

Lebendiger Neckar

Like every year the street along r=the river Neckar were closed in may towns for public events. In Heidelberg we checked out the activities at the Neckar Wiese.

Ravi in Town

An LSU physics professor who is visiting Germany and Switzerland came for a short visit from Darmstadt. After a boat tour on the Neckar and a short walk in the old town we took hm to the Königsstuhl and the for lunch at a beer garden.

he last meeting had been seven years earlier at the airport in Washington DC and then almost 20 years ago in Baton Roge

Picnic by the Neckar

On a nice warm summer evening we met our friends and neighbors for a picnic on the Neckarwiese - the large lawn by the Neckar only 5 minutes away from our place.


The children though it might be a good idea to take a little swim in the river



The water was actually not really cold and a few other people were also swiming

Ellis' Confirmation

We were invited to Ellis confirmation - which was a pretty long two our service by an auxiliary bishop with lots of incense and prayers. After that we all went to a nice Italian restaurant and then  had coffee and cake in the backyard



The son of a friend could cross his legs while sitting on a chair an Mia tried the same
