Ludwigsburg

Yearly transit passes are good for travel in Baden Würtenmberg on regional trains all summer long - adults can bring their children as well. So we decided to take a trip to Ludwigsburg close to Stuttgart which is famous for its baroque castle. Along came Mia's friend who also has a transit pass

After a breakfast break at the train station we first went to see the market in the old town

The castle was not far away

One of the main attractions are the gardens

Wissembourg

After a trip to Wissembourg - just across the border in France - in October almost three years ago we returned this time by car and with a big cooling box: Ji really enjoys shopping at a French supermarket und wanted to combine some sight seeing with some grocery shopping.

There was a market in the middle of town

We bought some olives, cheese and a fresh baguette for lunch. Then we explored the city

Girl Scouts Year End

Just like last year there was no overnight camping trip at the end of the year because of Corona. But at  least the girl could meet at the camp ground in Zwingenberg to spend a few hours  together.

Like in the years before the flags had to be presented in a short parade

The US flag was a special present from Hadley: She had been in Washington DC the week earlier for a BBQ at the White House with here daughter. There they had received that was flown over the National Mall on inauguration day.

Two cadets were waiting on the side

Mia kept an eye on the flowers for the girl scout leaders

Six juniors bridged to the cadet group- the two current ones are in the background

The green vest was replaced with e khaki colored one

Flags are returned

After this it was time to fix a small lunch

Very healthy

All turned out well

Desert

Nothing for the parents - but we had spend a few nice hours in the beer garden that is part of the camp ground
