Isemarkt

The Isemarkt is a famous farmers market under the tracks of an elevated train built more than 100 years ago. We never went there before during our many trips to Hamburg but checked it out this time.
First stop was a stand for olives and cheese for a little snack

Then we had some sausage and fries for lunch

With Ji"s friends we had ice cream and a sausage at another farmers"s market a day later

Marburg

We used the new 9 Euro ticket with allows travel on all local trains and public transport all over Germeny for a trip to Marburg - an university town in Hestia north of Frankfurt. We left early so the regional train from Heidelberg to Frankfurt was not too crowded. In Frankfurt we changed into another regional train ro Marburg.

The city has beautiful half timbered houses

Free drinking water from an old fountain

The market squire in fron of the town hall

Form the market square we had to go further up to the castle

A break in the castle gardens

More free drinking water

Some ice cream

The banks of the river Lahn were nice as well

On the way back the train towards Frankfurt was super crowded for some time but it got better soon and we made it back to Heidelberg okay
