Strasbourg

On our way back from Burgundy we stopped in Strasbourg to meet some old friends. In the evening we made a little tour to the old town to see the light installation at the Münster

Tour of the Owls

Back in Dijon we tried the self guided tour of the Owls that took us through the old town.But first we got a fresh baguette as a snack

Also. a quick look at the market

The cathedral was a starting point for the tour which was indicated by small metallic owl signs in the pavement

Touching the owl is supposed to bring luck

Beaune

A thirty minute drive south of Dijon is the city of Beaune, which is also famous for its vine. Our first stop was a mustard factory which is the supplier for all top restaurants in France and even used to be the mustard of choice on Air Force One for the US president until Trump

After we tasted and bought a lot of mustard we checked out the Hôtel-Dieu which was a hospital for more than 500 years - from 1441 until 1971.

Back at our hotel in Dijon there were more fancy cars at the parking lot 

Dijon

For another short trip during the summer vacation we drove to Dijon in Burgundy - only about a five hour drive.
We arrived in the afternoon and after checking in at our modern hotel next to a huge mall at the outskirts of the city took a modern tran into the old town

After dinner at he marked hall we headed back to our hotel. Mia was surprised to see many sports cars parked outside our hotel. Apparently a Swiss sports car club has used the hotel for a meeting or some tour

Saying Goodbye to Tessa

 A girl scout meeting to say good bye to Tessa who is leaving for an exchange in Canada

Heading home

After three countries in about a week it was time to drive back home. But not before a big shopping tour at a French Hypermarche

Day two Annnecy

 The first full day in Annecy started a bit cloudy when we explored the old town and the castle
