Shopping in Frankfurt

 To find a new jeans for Mia we went all the way to Frankfurt with Nisha as a fashion consultant

 But first it was lunch time at Chipotle - one of only two in Germany

Monday in Paris

Our last day in Paris started with a meeting close to Galeries Lafayette: Next door was an Asian markets were we found many nice goodies

Then it was time for some lunch at an Japanese pan cake restaurant. The pan cakes were really fluffy and the cream in the side very generous

 

While we were eating and talking it had started to snow outside and we stepped out into a different city

Since there is no snow on La Reunion everybody enjoyed the white surprise

The Louvre was only a short walk away

 

We had to get back to our hotel in the later afternoon to catch our train 

Because of the snow there was a huge delay and instead of 10:16 pm we arrived at 1:27 am in the middle of the night in Mannheim. Fortunately the number 5 tram was still running. Later we got some of the ticket price back

 

Sunday in Paris

After another nice breakfast at the hotel we headed to Montmartre where Mia wanted to see a house close to Sacré-Coeur that was in a movie she watched (The summer I turned pretty)

Around the corner it was very crowded and touristy

 Time for some bubble tea

After trying to find a toilette on Champs-Élysées we met our friends for some ice skating at the Grand Palais

Discussing some serious issues:

With the sun setting the light turned magically

Then the special light effects started

After the ice skating we headed to the Champs-Élysées at night

A stop the the Stranger Things sales event at Galeries Lafayette

 
Expensive cars in a  side street with fancy stores

Interesting people as well

Then we ended our walk at the Palais de Trocadéro with a view of the Eiffel tower

 Just in time for the sparkling at 22.00 h

Then we had time for some group pictures

Back at the hotel close to midnight were the metro station was covered with advertisement for a new Netflix show

Saturday in Paris

Our first full day in Paris started with a dusting of snow along the Bassin de la Villette where our hotel was

 

After a nice breakfast we headed to the suburbs to see a housing complex Les Espaces d'Abraxas that was used as a backdrop for the Hunger Games and other movies

Another post modern housing complex nearby that was also used for movies

Then we had lunch at Mia's friend's uncle's place

By bus, RER and tram we made it all across Paris to St. Cloud to see the Lumiers en Seine light show in a park
