A visit with Keira

We had not been visiting Vi, Doris and Keira for a long time. So the weekend before we left for Germany we stopped by on our way to Clarksburg.

 After blowing some bubbles on the front porch we moved inside to play a bit with Keira's toys.

Then the girls saw a bug and Vi had to hunt it down

Then it was time to take Keira's car for a spin

New Jersey Beach

Silvia had invited us to join her family for a few days at the Jersey beach where they have a house in Wildwood Crest not too far from Cape May. The drive on Saturday was a bit long with lots of vacation traffic but after that we had a great time and great weather.
We headed to the beach on the first afternoon

Then Mia had to try out he boggy board with Luca

It was really fun

 Then it was time to fly the kite..

 and play come bocce

The next day we headed to the bordwalk on a surrey

We stopped out to check out some sand sculptures from a competition the day before

4'th of July

Like the years before we were invited to a party at Silvia's rooftop terrace to watch with friends the 4'th of July fireworks over Washington DC. It was a big steamy and foggy but a great party and all teh kids stayed till past 11 pm - so the next day they were pretty tired.

Cooling Off

On a hot and steamy day a trip to the spray park with Luca was a great idea

Last Day of School

On the last day of school before the summer break we all headed to the bis stop together with other parents - like we did all during the school year - and took some extra pictures.

Mia managed to be the first in line where she took Ava under her "wings" - the smallest of her classmates who had joined the bus stop group not too long ago

When the bus was heading back to the school on Wilson Boulevard after too more stops Ji was waiting at the customary stop for a wave and a photo

After a half day at school the bus arrived back early at our stop

The driver Mr Jerry waved at the parents

The Second last Day of School

For the second last day of Kindergarten a little performance and a party was planned for the afternoon. But first everybody met at the bus stop and made Mr Jerry got a "Thank you" gift

For the performance about the letters of the alphabet Mia was in charge of the "P" and the "Q"

 Every child got a little bucket with a surpsrise

 Then it was time for ice cream

Mr Cochenour got a wedding present
