Heidelbergmann Triathlon

Our first Sunday after moving back to Heidelberg we watched the Heidelbergman Triathlon right at the Neckar at the doorsteps of our temporary furnished apartment.
The first swimmer was way ahead of all the others

But even the second group was pretty fast

After changing the bike part into the hills started

The last part was the running part - again into the hills

Then we watched a bit a the finish line

Later Mia could cool of a bit at the water play ground at the river

She also loved the playground with some interesting toys

Going Away Party

For two evening we met friend for a going away party on the rooftop terrace.  With all the packing we didn't really have much time but of course it was very well worth it.
The kids enjoyed the pool

The adults enjoyed the food and the beer

A visit with the Cousins

We hadn't seen Yilei and her family for quite some time since they had spent a few weeks on a long European vacation. After meeting them and Yilei's sister in-law and her kids for lunch in Yilei's favorite "hole in the wall" Chinese restaurant for lunch we went to her house.
First the kids checked out an old tent rhat we had stored at Vi's place

Then it was time to coll off at the pool

After that everybody relaxed at home

A visit with Keira

We had not been visiting Vi, Doris and Keira for a long time. So the weekend before we left for Germany we stopped by on our way to Clarksburg.

 After blowing some bubbles on the front porch we moved inside to play a bit with Keira's toys.

Then the girls saw a bug and Vi had to hunt it down

Then it was time to take Keira's car for a spin

New Jersey Beach

Silvia had invited us to join her family for a few days at the Jersey beach where they have a house in Wildwood Crest not too far from Cape May. The drive on Saturday was a bit long with lots of vacation traffic but after that we had a great time and great weather.
We headed to the beach on the first afternoon

Then Mia had to try out he boggy board with Luca

It was really fun

 Then it was time to fly the kite..

 and play come bocce

The next day we headed to the bordwalk on a surrey

We stopped out to check out some sand sculptures from a competition the day before

4'th of July

Like the years before we were invited to a party at Silvia's rooftop terrace to watch with friends the 4'th of July fireworks over Washington DC. It was a big steamy and foggy but a great party and all teh kids stayed till past 11 pm - so the next day they were pretty tired.
