New Alla Hopp Playground

After moe than a dozen Alla Hopp Playgrounds have opened in the region a brand new one finally opened in Heidelberg. Its about the size of a football field and offers activities for many different ages
- from a water playground with sand for pre-schooler to a parcous course and a section with weights for teenagers and young adults.
Of course Mia wanted to check it out an the opening day which luckily h some nice weather.

Family Reunion in Nuremberg

For Jörg's birthday party many of the cousins meet in Nuremberg - a good opportunity for Mia to meet some of her seconds cousins.
The drive from Heidelberg is only a bit more that two hours and we left early to avoid traffic so we had the morning to walk around in the old twon

The we met for coffee and cake had did some games

Mia tried some foosball

Later we had cigarettes and beer

Choir Practice

Mia has joined a choir for young children at the city run music school and also does some practice at home

Türöffnertag in Speyer

A popular German TV show for children - "Die Sendung mit der Maus" - invites businesses, clubs and other places to open their door for children on a "Türöffnertag" so that they can take a look behind their scenes.
One option in our area was the cathedral in Speyer - a 1000 year old Romanesque  church with a lot of history which is a world heritage site.

After the tour for children we walked around a bit in the old town

There was a nice view from the on old watch tower

We also walked a bit  along the river Rhine which is not for behind the Dom

Marble Cake

Mia wanted to bake a marble cake and with some help it turned out pretty well

Kerwe Eppelheim

Since it was a nice sunny - but cool - Sunday we decided to also check out he fair in Eppelheim in the west of Heidelberg and only a ten minute street car ride away

Mia had to have some cotton camdy

The highlight for her was the bungey jumping

Theater Festival for Children

A big circus tent by the river Neckar had been set up for a theater festival for children with many different shows every day for three days. Mia picked a play about a big confusion at the zoo.
Looks like it was fun

After the show we stayed a bit to check out the play options around the tent

Mia also liked the waffels
