Disneyland Shanghai

After it was recommended to us many times we decided to make a trip to Disneyland in Shanghai. It was easy to reach by metro and we left early in the morning

The weather was beautiful and we first watched the parade at noon

There were long waiting lines at the attractions but the one for the "Wizard of Oz" maze was not too long

Then we were standing in line for a canoe ride

After this is was time for the special Mickey Mouse ice cream

Look from a pirate ship before the pirate show with stuntmen at a theatere

Not too far was an artificial mountain with waterfall.

After standing on line for a long tome we went for a climbing tour - an then another one when it was already dark

After a look at the fireworks  we came back to the hotel at 10 pm and all the restaurants and places with street food were closed or closing down. So we ended up at a Mac Donald's the only open place in the neighborhood

Trip to Shanghai

After a trip to Shanghai after Christmas 2017 - when it was cold and damp - and one in the summer  of 2016- when it was hot and humid - we decided to go during the Easter break this year hoping the weather would be nice. We left right after school on a Friday afternoon to catch the evening flight from Frankfurt
For us it was the first time to fly on an Airbus A380 - the largest commercial airliner which has two decks

After arriving the next morning we got picked up by Ji's brother and checked in at the serviced apartment in Xujiahui where we like to stay

It is not far from a metro station where three lines cross and a small park s just across the building. We know the shops fro small snacks and ice cream in the small side streets.

The next time we met Ji's sister in law and Mia's cousin at one of our favourite restaurants

After that they wanter to show Mia an indoor game parlor at People Square. Mia loved the games where you can try to grab a stuffed animal after putting in some money. Luckily her cousin knew just how to do it

After getting quite a few stuffed animals we just walked over the square past the Shanghai museum to the metro station

 Back at Xujiahui

Frühlingserwachen at the Schloss

Like in the years before the Heidelberg castle a Sunday afternoon we no entrance fee and many events.
The weather was nice so we hopped on our bikes and made a little trip to the old town

The Jazz bad was playing in the  courtyard

The pharmacy museum was free as well  and children could mix different herbal teas in the kids section. Mia picked a refreshing one

The exhibit with old pharmacies was more for adults

Mia spotted a Dackel she could pet

While she was waiting for a magic show to begin at 4 pm we checked out the inside of the castle which is a mic of intact sections and parts that are in ruins

The show was very professional

Mia wanted to see the great barrel again that was used to store wine

The view is always beautiful

Cherry Blossom in Heidelberg

The cherry trees next to the public library in Heidelberg are in bloom. On a nice and warm day in really felt light spring

Matheisemarkt

Two years after our last visit we made another trip to the first big fair of the season in Schriesheim - to the Matheisemarkt. At the street car stop we met a a boy from Mia's school and his sister and parents. So we went as a little group.

The weekend before the parade had been canceled because of s storm so luckily we caught it this Sunday. Ji liked that wine was poured into the cup she had brought

Mia liked the fair more and checked out the fun house

We also had some fresh potato pancakes (Reibekuchen)
