Bayreuth

After an evening in a beer garden in Nürnberg with cousin Matthias we spend the night in an hotel in Fürth and headed to Bayreuth the next morning. The small city is about an hour north of Nürnberg and a friend and former colleague has moved there a few months ago.

We arrived a bit early and  walked around in the city center a bit

The market square was pretty big

There was also a small caste

Then we met out friends which got a super cute puppy - a Bernese mountain dog - just a few weeks ago. Of course the dog was the main attraction for Mia. Since Balu needed a walk we went to park around a summer palace in the hills - the Erimtegae

With Mia"s summer break ending we decided to spend a weekend in Frankonia - he northern part of Bavaria. Our first stop was Dinkelsbühl a picturesque historic town.

We found a parking spot outside the city walls

We gad some coffee and then started a walk all over town

Market and Alster Pedal Boat

Ji enjoys the weekly market down the street. So we always try to go and Mia already went there on her first trip to Hamburg 11 years ago when she was only eight months old. This time we had to wear a mask due to the current situation

Mia enjoyed her curry wurst:

From the market its only a short walk to the outer Alster. We passed though a very fancy neighborhood with very fancy houses like the mansion Jil Sander

On the Alster we rented a pedal boat and went all the way to the inner Alster in the city center to see the water jet day.

We went in a circle around the water jet to catch some of the spray and cool off on a hot summer day

On the way back we noticed the American consulate

Mia took over the steering wheel and left the pedaling to her father

Planten un Blomen

Not too far from where we stayed is the Planten un Blomen park. We went there on the first visit in Hamburg with Mia 11 years ago and also on another visit with her. So this time we walked there for another visist and to check out the playground we remembered from the last visit
