Returning home

We took a taxi cab to the airport which was only 20 minutes from the hotel. Luckily we found a mailbox just outside the terminal where we could mail our postcards. Stefan received his in Cologne only two days later.

We had enough time to check in early

 

Like in Baden Baden we had to walk to the plane

On the drive back from Baden Baden airport to Heidelberg there was really heavy rain - a reminder we are still in the middle of winter

Valencia Day Six

 On our last day in Valencia we went for a walk in old town

Valencia Day Five: Oceanográfic

On the first day of the year we went to see the Oceanográfic an aquarium which was just a short walk from the hotel and is one of the largest in Europe. First we got seats for the dolphin show

Then we explored the many aquarium in the different underground sections. Jellyfish

After the aquarium we wen to the Russafa neighborhood to look for a place for dinner

Valencia Day Four: A day at the zoo

On the last year of the year we went to see the zoo in Valencia which is really spectacular: Its is build in the former riverbed and focuses on African animal who plenty of space and environment as natural as possible

There were also some smaller colorful animals

The lions were relaxed

Some refreshment for the elephants

On exhibit showed animals from Madagaskar

The hippo was happy as well

On the way out we stopped at the souvenir shop - but didn't buy anything

After dinner at the mall we watched the fireworks for the new year from our hotel room: Happy 2024!
