Lucerne

We really loved the Lago Maggiore but luckily this was not the only stop on our trip. On the way back we had planned to visit friends in Switzerland and stopped for a night in Lucerne on the way there.
The city is right in the center of Switzerland and located on beautiful Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee)

Because Switzerland is so expensive we didn't go to a restaurant in Lucerne and ate some things we had bought in Italy. The city is full of rich Arabs and Indians that don't mind the prices thooug

Last Day

Our last full day at the Lago Maggiore was relaxing as the previous one.
First a few hours at the public beach after a nice breakfast - Ji had brought her own life saver

Our friends son and his girlfriend had driven all the way from Munich just for a days visit in this blue rental car

The early dinner at the town hall we got was not so great - the place was a bit of a tourist trap

We met again at the villa since we really enjoyed the place the night before: A beautiful view and inexpensive food and drinks

A lazy Day

 On our third full day at the lake we took it easy. First another nice breakfast

Then a few hours at the public beach

We met in the evening again to check out some live music that was advertised in a villa with a nice park

Giardini Botanici di Villa Taranto

One of the main tourist attractions in Verbania was a botanical garden that was created by a Scottish sea caption in 1931. He wanted to create an English Garden, which could remind him of his native Scotland,

We met in the center of the town and from there it was a 30 minute walk along the lake to the entrance of the garden

The garden was beautiful and not cowded at all

 

To get back to town we took a boat
