Xana's Birthday Party

The birthday weekend concluded with a birthday party for Xana's third birthday on the rooftop. Almost all the kids from the building were invited and some other friends as well

 We helped a bit with the preperation and Mia played with Kennedy, Xana and baby Harrison

All the kids could take turns playing with Cloe's I Pad

Then it was time for the cake

We stayed till sunset

Kross' Birthday Party

After missing it two years in a row we made it to Kross' birthday party this year. The weather had finally turned nice on a day that almost felt like summer we went there right after German School. We arrived a bit early but it was nice to be around for the the preparty as well.
The main attraction was the Reptile man

He started with a bearded dragon and the birthday boy got to hold him

 He told a lot of fact about his animals and sometimes it almost felt like school

 His aninmals became bigger and bigger

 He also had a uge boa constrictor

 At the end the children were allowed to touch the snake- not all wanted to to but Larissah an Mia lined up

Of course there was also a big cake

and a pinata

Then we had to leave to see Wolfgang at Lyon Hall for his 50'th birthday

Middleburg Hunt's Point-to-point Races

Mandy invited us again to join her colleagues for a little outing into the Virginia country side. This time we went to watch some horse races at Glenwood park north of Middleburg. After a long delay because we had to wait for an hour for latecomers at the meeting point it turned out pretty nice
First all the children could see the horses at the warm up area and could autographs from trainers, owners and jockeys

Mia also showed a cartwheel

 Then it was time to watch the first of seven races

Between the races some fox hounds were shown

Then it was time for lunch

We had a great view from our spot

At the end a group picture was taken

 It was a great day to be outside

Habitat Day

Mia's class ventured out to a little pond on habitat day

Cuddeling Up with Mr Mimi

Mr Mimi was back we came back from our 8 day vacation.

Visiting Lorene in New Bern, NC

On our way back home from South Carolina we stopped in New Bern, NC to see Lorne and Walton who were just a few more weeks away from having their first baby.

After breakfast they asked Mia to look for the Easter basket they had hidden in the living room.

 Mia was very happy with this kind of surprise

After this they too us to Beafort an old harbor with an pirate museum dedicated to Blackbeard

 Then it was time for some outside activities

 We were all hungry for lunch

 Mia wanted to head back to the climbing tree

After a night with the NCAA basket ball semi finals Lorene read Mia the Easter story the next morning on Easter Sunday

Charlston, South Carolina

After five days in Wolfgang's beach house it was time to head south to Charleston. Ji always wanted to go and with the old town only a two hour drive from Myrtle Beach, this was a good opportunity to go.

Our hotel was in a nice old neighborhood

After dinner at a BBQ restaurant we  walked around in the old town and headed to a park at the waterfront

 We also saw the market which was empty at night

The next morning after breakfast we went back to the market

 Mia had to cool of with some cold limonade
