Deidesheim
We wanted to check out some of the other "Alla Hopp" playgrounds in the area and decided to go to Deidesheim in the Pfalz. We could go for free by train with the Job ticket and the playground was a 5 minutes from teh train station. Also, it seemed like a good plan to take a train to a region famouts for its wine.
The last two stops to Deidesheim were on a new local Diesel train
Mia checked out some sculptures on the square in front of the Town Hall
Form there it was a five minute walk to the playground with it's huge climbing wall
Mia also checked out the monkey vars
At the end it was time for Easter muffin in the bakery across the street
It really looked like a nice area and we will back in the spring for sure - today it was still very windy and cold

Feeding the ducks
We had some leftover bread so Ji and Mia made a little bile tour to the Neckar Wiese - a park by the river Neckar - to feed the ducks.
Then some very dark clouds appeared to the south
This didn't keep Mia from a short stop at swing
A few minutes later it started to snow heavily

Bad Wimpfen
Just to get out on a cold and grey Sunday we made a little train trip from Heidelberg to Bad Wimpfen - an medieval town on a small hill overlooking the river Neckar. The trip was free with the job ticket and thee is a non stop train from Heidelberg every two hours.
The view from the "Blue Tower" a medieval watch tower
It was not too cold for some ice cream
Mia discovered a little playground

Oma in Town
Oma was in town with Joachim and Mäxchen. She had brought a present and some old toys
After a great lunch with chicory with ham in a bechamel sauce it was time for an afternoon walk - especially since Mäxchen really had to get out.
Unfortunately the great bakery Ji and Mia had discovered two days earlier was closed on Saturdays.
Later at home Mia could check out some of the old toys Oma had brought
The old Lego train set is still running after 40 years
