Ice Skating

It got a bit colder and we thought that this would be a good day for ice skating on a sunny Sunday. Unfortunately the out door ice rink was free this weekend and it was super crowded. It was still fun though

The new Bike

Today Mia got a good recommendation for the secondary school which starts in grade 5 after this summer. A good reason for a  little celebration and a new bike. We had bought it a few days earlier from a cooeague.

It has really bright lights and is a bit bigger than the old one which has gooten a bit too small

Landsberg am Lech

After spending the evening and the night in Augsburg at the hotel we know from a trip last year we made a little road trip to Landsberg am Lech - another small historic town south of Augsburg

 It was cold but sunny

Mia had brought one of her stuffed animals - a dog she got at St. Nicolas

In the evening we tried another restaurant with German food in an old basement in the old town of Augsburg.
Mia worked out the order

 It was all good

Nördlingen

After the holidays we started a small raod trip to Bavaria. Our first stop was Nördlingen - an historic town with a city wall at the border between Bavaria and Baden Würtemberg.
On the drive we saw some countryside that was covered with frost - beautiful view

We found a parking spot by an old city gate

It was pretty cold

Luckily we found a cafe to warm up

In the late afternoon we arrived in Augsburg were we checked into a hotel wee we had also stayed the year before.
Mia figured out the way to the town hall with a map. There we had dinner in an old cellar

Christmas Eve

On the afternoon of Christmas Eve we did the traditionally thing to do and set up the Christmas tree. We had bought it a week earlier and stored it on the balcony

Its also a tradition that Mia helps decorating it

Then she was part of the nativity play at church again as a shepart

After the church service for families it was already dark outside and at home the presents were waiting under he tree

Uncle Stefan had given a small but very popular present - a flying ball with LED lights
