Making Von Gogh

After the Matisse exhibition in Mannheim we checked out another big art exhibition: We drove up to Frankfurt to see "Making van Gogh" at the Städel museum. With about 100  originals by van Gogh and about the same by contemporary painters it told how he became famous after he had died unknown and poor.
First we had to stand in line to get in - more that two hours

Mia had brought something to read

But it was worth the wait and we enjoyed it

Flight to Frankfurt

The trip back went very smoothly: The Madrid airport has a metro station right next to it and we could take a special entrance for passengers that only have carry on luggage so there no long lines.
The flight left in the afternoon and the skies were clear so had a great view
First when we crossed the Pyrenees - the mountain range between Spain and France

Mia took most pictures because she had the window seat

From the plane we saw the famous Millau Viaduct  a highway bridge near Millau in southrn France

Later we crossed the Swiss alps at sunset

Frankfurt Skyline during landing - unfortunatley a bit blurred
