Continuing to Annecy

After our short visit in Switzerland our next stop was Annecy in the Savoy region of France. It is only about two hours from Bern and we had haired good things about the town from our old neighbors in Arlington - so we had to check it out.
But first we started the day with a great breakfast

Before leaving for France we also had a great lunch at our friend's fathers place north of Bern

There Mia forgot her smartphone in the bathromm but the father jumped into his limited edition Marvel themed super car to bring it to her

Then we finally took of and reached Annecy in the late afternoon

Our hotel was only a 15 minute walk along the river from the old town and Lake Anncey

t was pretty busy along the river but we found a simple burger place for dinner

Bern

Our friends that live just outside Bern had prepared a great lunch for us - even with a stylish paper napkin

After lunch we headed to the city by tram.First stop was a park at the river Aare that offers a great view of the city and is the home to some bears - which is in the coat of arms of the city

Not only bears refresh themself the water

hen we headed to the center of town

Outside the seat of the parliament

We then also went for a refreshing swin in a public pool - it was free but pretty cold. We also checked out an ice cream place that was very popular with a long line outside

We walked the way up to the old town after the swim - Mia took a cable car

Then there was a great BBQ at home

Lucerne

We really loved the Lago Maggiore but luckily this was not the only stop on our trip. On the way back we had planned to visit friends in Switzerland and stopped for a night in Lucerne on the way there.
The city is right in the center of Switzerland and located on beautiful Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee)

Selfie time

The city also has a beautiful old town

Because Switzerland is so expensive we didn't go to a restaurant in Lucerne and ate some things we had bought in Italy. The city is full of rich Arabs and Indians that don't mind the prices thooug
