Visiting the Cacciatos in Perugia, Italy

They almost didn't make it to Italy because their flight was cancelled twice but luckily Sylvia and her family made it across the Atlantic. We had booked a flight from Frankfurt to Perugia to see them on their last leg of their trip across the country to see family and friends.
We had arrived late and woke up on a sunny day to see the historic old city on a hill from the window of our hotel room

A walkway with stairs took us up into the center

The medivial fountain on the main square is almost 750 years old

The bakeries looked very nice

View across the valley

Ji tried the pork sandwich which is a specialty of the region

Old city streets from the 1500 hundreds can be seen in the inside of an old fortress that was build on top of a part of the city after the armies of the pope had defeated the independent city

Some of the underground rooms are used for art exhibits

Finally we met our friend at their hotel

I didn't feel as if we hadn't seen each other for three years
