Uncle Didi had taken a day off to drive his mother and us to Pudong in the east of Shanghai to visit the ancient water town of Xinchang where her family is from.
On the short 300 m way from our hotel to the meeting place at her grandparents apartment Mia noticed a few fancy cars - even though the neighborhood is not very rich:
