With Thursday a public holiday and Friday a day off at school we took a little vacation in the Franconia region in norther Bavaria and booked a hotel in Erlangen - a small university town north of Nürnberg .
There were some showers after we arrived in the afternoon so we first stopped for a early dinner at a brew pub right next to a brwery.
It was a good spot for a refreshing father"s day beer
After this we explored the older part of the town a bit which was quite charming
An old friend from the university of Bonn who is from the region and moved back many years ago showed is around with his wife and son.
Another brewery with a pub - he only place were they sell their beer
